Endocrinology Nurse-Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Prima CARE, a 160-provider multispecialty group in southeast Massachusetts, is recruiting an office-based NP or PA to join our Endocrinology Division. This Division is staffed by Fellowship-trained physicians who cover office practices and hospital consultations. Prima CARE has a strong Primary Care referral base and southeast Massachusetts has a disproportionate prevalence of diabetes.

The advanced practice provider, as part of this team, will see diabetic and general endocrinology office patients, working under physician supervision. The schedule is typically 4 days in the office, with the fifth day being an "administrative" day that can be remote. There are no nights, weekends, holidays, or hospital duties.

Office duties include diabetic teaching, initiation of oral/insulin therapy, management of hyperglycemic (and hypoglycemic) states, chronic diabetic care, and management of thyroid conditions. We use every tool, from patient blood sugar logs to the latest in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and have access to virtually all classes of diabetic medications. Although less common, other endocrine disease (e.g., adrenal, hypothalamic/pituitary, parathyroid, hypogonadism) are seen. Prima CARE also offers a comprehensive weight management program, osteoporosis management, Men’s and Women's Health, and a Thyroid Center offering ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration.

Prima CARE uses an electronic medical record (eClinicalWorks), with interfaces to the local hospital computers.
Salary is commensurate with training and experience, with generous benefits including malpractice, a CME allowance, vacation/sick/personal time, health insurance, and a 401K retirement plan. The successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to learn, maturity, organization, compassion, and an ability to work as part of a team.

Prima CARE is physician-owned and managed. We participate in all major national and regional healthcare quality initiatives, Accountable Care Organizations (ACO), insisting on the highest quality of personalized care.
