Position: Ultra Sound Technician
Location: Fall River, MA

Job Description:

PrimaCARE, P.C. in Fall River is looking for a Full-Time Ultrasound Technician with a focus on breast imaging.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols as directed by physicians.
• Instruct patients regarding procedures to ensure cooperation and optimum test results.
• Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
• Maintain ultrasound lab equipment in appropriate operating conditions.
• Maintain examination rooms and work areas. Order and stock all ultrasound lab supplies.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate department records, reports and files as directed.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Work as a team member within the ultrasound department and all other departments.
• Document work processes as required.

Skills:

• Ability to operate ultrasound equipment.
• Ability to take vital signs. Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers.
• Ability to use computer software for RIS, PACS and EMR.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Ultrasound Technology program required.
• Certification/Licensure: RDMS certification in one or more of the following areas: Abdomen, GYN, vascular, breast.
• CPR certification for Health Care Providers.
• Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a sonographer.
