Dr. Lakshman is a Board-certified specialist in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He is a graduate of SDU Medical College in Bangalore, India. Following this, he earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Lakshman completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at Boston University Medical Center.

Thyroid Disorders and Endocrinology Services

Dr. Lakshman treats a wide range of thyroid disorders, including thyroid cancer. At Prima-CARE’s Thyroid Center, state-of-the-art ultrasound techniques are used to diagnose and biopsy thyroid nodules, parathyroid adenomas, and malignant lymph nodes.

● Certifications: Dr. Lakshman is ECNU-certified, and his practice is AIUM-accredited in
thyroid and parathyroid ultrasound.
● Genetic Testing: He offers Afirma® and Thyroseq® genetic testing for thyroid nodules,
helping to prevent unnecessary thyroid surgeries.
● Radioactive Iodine Therapy: Dr. Lakshman is licensed to administer radioactive iodine
therapy for treatment of thyroid conditions.

Dr. Lakshman sees patients at his office in Fall River and consults at Saint Anne’s Hospital.
