Meet Brenda Roy, MD
Dr. Brenda Roy is a Board-certified specialist in gynecology and Women’s Health. Dr. Roy is a graduate of the University of Toronto School of Medicine and completed a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University in Montreal. Prior to entering medical school, she had already earned a Master’s Degree and a PhD in Physiology at Queen’s University in Ontario.
Dr. Roy’s practice focuses on gynecological care for adults, adolescents, and children. Her particular interests include Women’s Health, menopause management, pelvic pain, fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic prolapse, and incontinence. She provides birth control counseling and offers office-based tubal ligation. She is skilled in laparoscopic (minimally-invasive) surgical techniques and is a member of the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists. Dr. Roy provides genetic counseling to appropriate individuals with female malignancies.
Dr. Roy is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ob-Gyn at Brown University. She has practiced at Women and Infants’ Hospital in Providence and at St. Anne’s Hospital, and joined Prima CARE in 2014. Dr. Roy is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada) and the New England Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. She has published extensively in the medical literature, has presented widely at national meetings, and has served on numerous local and national professional committees.
Dr. Roy sees patients at her Prima CARE office in the Durfee Mills Complex, and has hospital and surgical privileges at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. She is accepting new patients and referrals from her medical colleagues.
